PREPARING THE FILES and HOW TO ORDER:

  • Send a PDF file
I accept other file formats like Illustrator, Corel Draw, AutoCAD, Inkscape but chances are that the files look different on my computer (and other computers) and I will not replace parts with missing holes or different Fonts or shifted text/elements. (from my experience Inkscape, Alibre Design and Fusion360 do not deliver good results)
The best is to send a PDF file as it looks always the same on every computer. I never had a single problem with PDF files.
A4-Format is too small for 19" panels. So just send A3 size PDFs.
The file needs to be scaled 1:1
Remove all cross-hairs in the middle of holes.
Just add ONE dimension: the length of the panel (and remove all other dimensions)

When using "Affinity Designer": Make sure you use "PDF/X-3:2003"  in the Export-Settings under "compatibility". (and dont's use "PDF 1.7 (Acrobat 8) as it exports wrong.

  • Cuttings and Text needs to be seperated - but both needs to have the outside contour of the panel.
Take a look at the screenshot below. This is how it works the best.
I can also seperate the text and holes for you, but then I need to send you the PDF and you need to check it again.
  • Info about material thickness, and colour must be written above the file
If you need to describe how your panel should look like in your mails = bad. I don't read all mails again before starting the cnc machine.
The more you write - the more can go wrong.
The best order-mails look like this: "Hi, I need 10 panels. The PDF file is attached. My shipping adress is...."

Example File:

Not sure how to export text and contour seperately?
It's easy! Just copy your final design below the existing one. And then remove all text from the top one, and all holes from the bottom one.

Within the last 15 years it turned out that sending the files like shown here is the best way.
I generally accept any file formats, but in case something went wrong in production because the files had been sent differently from showing here, keep in mind that I probably can't refund the money.

How to order:

Too complicated?

I can also draw whatever you need. We can design the panel together until the design is finished. Just send a mail of what you need to : info@frontpanels.de
I charge 15€/15 minutes (+VAT) for making your custom layouts. To keep an eye of the costs, I can put a time-info below the preview-PDF-layout whenever I changed something.
